Supporting Candidates

Laws are written by those who hold office. Candidates require the active support of engaged and passionate citizens to ensure that their message is heard. We can help you find the right place to apply your talents and energy.

Are you less than thrilled with our current representatives?

While there are many ways to effect change, the most profound one is to step forward. Step forward to run for office, support a candidate, or volunteer for a board in town. At the end of the day, voters need candidates that reflect their values and priorities. You can be that candidate. If you are curious about what this entails, please contact us here.

Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander visits New Boston

On Sunday January 18th, 2026, Maggie Goodlander, the Congressional Representative for NH’s Second District, came to the Community Church in New Boston to help celebrate Martin Luther King Jr Sunday. She gave a moving tribute to Rev. King reminding the congregation that in his speeches and sermons he was an advocate for justice, kindness, and nonviolent protest. In particular she stressed what Rev. King knew that if we work together, we can change things for the better.

After the service there was a Q & A with interested congregants. Participants expressed concerns about the lack of progress by the Congress. She expressed frustration but remains committed to working hard for NH. Specifically, she is currently concerned about the proposed ICE detention center in Merrimack. She is working to prevent the warehouse in Merrimack from being used to house ICE detainees. She noted that these detention centers actually cost the local taxpayers. Although they were meant to be paid for by the federal government, that is not happening. In response to a question about Keith Ammon (one of our representatives in the state house) and his support of Project 2025 (a project that has been the basis for many of the changes by Trump during the past year),  she suggested that we should educate the local voters about the destructive consequences of Project 2025 for New Boston and the danger to NH of continued support of Trump’s reckless policies by Republicans in the NH state congress.

She welcomes continued communication with all residents. Granite Staters can contact her office by calling 603-226-1002 or visiting Goodlander.House.Gov.

At a Q&A session after the service, Maggie Goodlander responds to questions from New Boston residents.
